Recent bouts of high stress have me thinking that it’s time for some ‘me time.” Somehow, self care hasn’t been a priority which leads to my body reacting physically. Doesn’t it always seem like you’re there for everyone and everything else but yourself? The job needs you, the kids need you, your friends need you but all that can be draining. Stress is always in our lives but it should be required that self care be right up there with eating and drinking water.
I”m off to try and incorporate some of these practical self care tips:-
It’s never too late to learn how to meditate. There are lots of apps to get you started and it doesn’t have to be a lengthy session. Some are as short as 5 minutes.
When my son was younger, despite me not being a morning person, I would wake up 30 minutes earlier to get my yoga session in. It was the best way for me to get my “me time” before the day began.
If you’re into bullet journals, this is the perfect way to unwind with your thoughts on paper or just write out some more self-care ideas.
4. Pamper Yourself
Paint your toes, get your hair done, soak in the tub.
5. Listen To Music
Music is among the top ways to relieve stress and can be added to other self-care ideas like a soak in the tub and your favorite music.
6. Go For A Walk

8. Get More Sleep
Getting more sleep is one of the best
9. Unwind Before Bed
Whether it’s a 30 minute sitcom before bed or a new book. Make time to decompress before you sleep.
10. Do A Mini Exercise R
Get your endorphins running with a short workout – 15 minutes tops. Grab a friend as a workout partner while you’re at it.
There are many other ways to get “me time” but the whole idea is to do something that you enjoy or start a new thing that takes care of you – EVERY SINGLE DAY!
